Make that idea your life

Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment. Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one's definition of your life; define yourself.
Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first. If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude. Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.
It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change. All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another.
Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life - think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success.

We bought an old terrace in Splott two years ago and the chimney breast was damp from day one. Turned out the pot had no cap and rain was pouring straight down it. A simple cowl fixed most of it.

My aunt served as executor for my uncle's estate and said the hardest part was simply finding all the accounts and passwords. Nobody talks about that practical side. Might be worth a whole separate post on organizing documents ahead of time.

Replaced our old felt garage roof with a rubber one last spring and the difference is huge. No more puddles sitting on top and no drips on the car. Should have done it years ago.
